# Use the merchant dashboard

> Read store setup, quick actions, and the live business overview.

The dashboard changes as your store is set up. Before activation, it shows a checklist and resources. Complete each required step, including store identity, a product, fulfillment, and transaction-fee handling, until the store is active. See [Store setup states](https://help.payam.africa/merchants/setup-states.md) for the status labels.

After activation, the dashboard shows the live business overview and quick actions. Use it to identify work that needs attention, then open **Orders**, **Products**, **Analytics**, or the relevant sales channel for details. The number beside **Orders** in the sidebar represents unfulfilled orders, so review it regularly.

Quick actions are shortcuts; the destination page remains the place to confirm a change. If a card or action is missing, check the staff role assigned under **Settings → Staff** and whether the store has completed setup. Do not infer a payout or completed sale from an overview card alone; verify it on the relevant order or Finance page.
