# Analytics and reports

> Explore sales, products, customers, channels, and payment trends.

Open **Analytics** to see the store overview and a directory of detailed reports. Choose a date range to compare results over time, then open a report for its trend chart and breakdown table. The report directory can be searched by name or description.

Reports are grouped into **Sales**, **Products**, **Customers**, and **Channels and payments**. Examples include:

* **Sales:** net sales, orders, average order value, refunds, collections, tax, delivery fees, and gross profit.
* **Products:** top products by orders or revenue, low stock, and products with no sales.
* **Customers:** new and returning customers, plus customer location.
* **Channels and payments:** orders and revenue by channel or payment source, peak order hours, and discount performance.

Read the description on each report before comparing numbers. For example, **Net Sales over time** separates merchandise sales from tax and delivery fees, while **Collections over time** includes amounts collected for those items. Gross profit is most useful when product costs have been recorded.

If Analytics is missing from the sidebar, ask the store owner to check your analytics permission.

## Read a detailed report

Use the report directory search to find a metric, open its detail page, then apply the date and other filters offered by that report. The detail view provides a metrics strip, trend chart, and breakdown table. Compare the chart with the table for the same date range and read the report description before interpreting changes. For channel comparisons, check whether the report counts orders, revenue, collected payments, or refunds; those answer different questions.
